HH Denma Lochö Rinpoche to visit Jewel Heart

HH Denma Lochö RinpocheOur friends at Jewel Heart Ann Arbor write:

We are delighted to announce that His Holiness Denma Locho Rinpoche will visit Jewel Heart Ann Arbor November 5-20, 2012.

During his visit, Rinpoche will offer a teaching and oral transmission of Je Tsongkhapa’s Essence of Eloquence, widely regarded as Je Tsongkhapa’s most outstanding and penetrating presentation of the Middle Way approach to the true nature of reality in Tibetan Buddhism. Though the detailed teaching schedule is still being worked out, we expect that Rinpoche will teach for 3-4 hours a day, likely in the afternoons, over a 10-day period

Born in Kham, eastern Tibet, in 1928, and educated at Drepung Loseling monastery and the Gyume Tantric College, HH Denma Locho Rinpoche is revered as one of the senior-most eminent scholar-teachers of the Je Tsongkhapa tradition. Rinpoche has visited Jewel Heart several times over the years. In 2002, he taught on the wisdom verses of Je Tsongkhapa’s Lines of Experience, and in 2004 he gave the Guyasamaja initiation. Most recently, in 2008, he taught on Guntang’s Meaningful Praise to Tsongkhapa.
