Great Wave Zen Sangha of Ludington will hold a traditional one-day zazenkai retreat on November 10. Participants will have an opportunity to deepen and clarify the experience of zazen, practice liturgy, receive private instruction from resident teacher Gendo Sensei, and to hear a Dharma talk. We request a donation of $30.

Please join us for our upcoming Seven-day Sesshin, a wonderful opportunity to deepen and clarify our meditation, practice liturgy, receive private instruction from resident teacher Gendo Sensei, and hear Dharma talks.
Participant numbers are limited, so register early if you can to insure your place. For purposes of planning, we ask that you register no later than MONDAY, JULY 22. It is important and necessary for all to register by this date so plans can be made regarding the menu, the purchase of food and service positions.
The sesshin begins Monday evening, July 29 at 8 p.m. and ends Sunday morning, August 4 around 10:30 a.m. Your sesshin donation may be given in up to four installments with a $30 deposit made at the time of registration.

This workshop, open to beginners and experienced practitioners alike, will provide participants with a conceptual and experiential foundation for effective Zen Buddhist practice. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about:
– fundamental Buddhist teachings;
– the three aims of Zen practice;
– the three training paths and 8 forms of practice at Great Wave;
– meditation postures and techniques;
– the role of mindfulness practice;
– the significance of practicing with a teacher;
– work practice; and
– scriptural recitation practice.
Participants will have opportunities for reflective journaling, private instruction by Gendo Sensei and group discussion/Q and A.
As seating is limited, we ask that participants complete the Intro to Zen Workshop registration form by no later than October 25.
